- Profile data: Search criteria, move-in dates, budget, German language level, employment status, lifestyle preferences
- Notification preferences: Telegram chat ID and notification settings
- Usage data: Features used, pages visited, timestamps (collected as anonymous events with no personally identifiable information beyond your user ID)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Apartment Hunter service
- Score rental listings against your profile to identify matches
- Generate application draft messages tailored to listings
- Send you notifications about matching listings via Telegram
- Analyze service usage patterns to improve functionality and reliability
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Storage and Processing
Your data is processed and stored in the following locations and by the following processors:
- Frankfurt, Germany: User accounts, profiles, search history, and listing data
- NVIDIA AI and Microsoft Azure: Listing text and your profile are sent to these platforms for scoring and application draft generation
- PostHog (EU, Germany): Anonymous usage analytics (which features you use, never your email, profile, or listing text)
- Telegram: Notifications are sent to your registered Telegram account when a listing matches your criteria
4. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not:
- Sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties
- Store payment information (the service is free)
- Use cookies for tracking or advertising
- Share your email, profile, or criteria with anyone other than the processors listed above
5. Third-Party Services
Our service monitors rental listings from public sources including Kleinanzeigen, WG-Gesucht, ImmoScout24, Immowelt, and OpenRent. We are not affiliated with these platforms. Your use of Apartment Hunter does not directly share your information with these platforms — we only analyze public listing data.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from your Settings page. Deletion occurs immediately and permanently.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Withdraw consent for data processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, though we work diligently to prevent unauthorized access.

Apartment Hunter is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information immediately.
